So the Covent Garden Tube Stop reminds me of The Living Seas/Disney Quest.
Let me explain.
So the Underground is as you guessed it very much underground. This means that you are required to take stairs and escalators to get to the street. We're not talking like Mall Escalators...no, these are more intense. They're very long. It's a good place to people watch or memorize the ads for every show London has to offer as they pass by you on your right. Some of the stations are more upgraded so these ads are actually TV monitors but they haven't really gotten the hang of them and they all typically advertise the same thing which I still don't know what it is. It's very colorful but other than that I have no idea. The most important thing to know about the escalators though is that you stand to the RIGHT. Under no circumstances should you stand to the left. Only walking is allowed. It's more of a little gallop though as people rush to make the Tube only to get to the platform and have to wait 3min by which time all the people they ran past are also on the platform. Today I got cut multiple times getting on the escalator and thats enough to make you wanna push anyone down it....i mean not that I ever would. Plus with the CCTV cameras all over the place (I think the science museum said any given person is caught on a CCTV camera 300 times a day) I'd probably be arrested or something.
Anyways back to the whole Living Seas thing. So at the Covent Garden they don't have escalators, they have these big elevators. Theres about 196 steps to get to the street and theyre only suppose to be used in the event of an emergency. I never want to witness an emergency which would require a full train to push their way up a narrow set of 196 steps.
At the EPCOT attraction The Living Seas you take a big ol fake elevator down into an underwater station as well as to get back up to ground level. Watching the exit of the Covent Garden tube stop is an awful lot like watching the exit of the Living Seas.
In the elevator there is also a little recording that gives you directions and advice to go to the London Transport Museum (of course they would promote this). It kinda reminds me of Disney Quest except at Disney Quest it's the Genie who gives you the directions and advice and the whole experience is a lot more exciting. I did walk straight to the Disney Store after getting out of the elevator though so I mean it was almost like getting to ride the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (a ride Nicole and I are amazing at).
So there goes my long winded comparison which I discovered while waiting for Manasi to meet me for dinner. We went to Wagamama which wasn't bad, I liked Neds Noodle Bar much better.
I spent the earlier part of the day wandering around. I ended up in Borders where I started reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy...it's actually 4 books but I don't know what you would call that. I've been watching the movie every night before I go to sleep so I figured I would try reading it. There's 800 pages so I think I'll be busy for awhile.
I have class tomorrow...I haven't had it in a week so I hope I haven't lost all ability to learn....not that I would call what I am doing here learning.
Alright, I'm gonna go read...Post Later, Jeannie
