So this past weekend was fun.
Friday I slept in and ended up going out to dinner with Laura's family who was visiting. We went to this place Nandos which is like a Portugese Boston Market. It was really really good. PLUS they had bottomless soda which makes everything a billion times better.
After Meg and I decided we needed McFlurries. The only problem was our McDonalds' ice cream machine was broken. We had already managed to get ourselves out of Wigram so we decided we would try Burger King up at Victoria Station.....they didn't have ice cream either. Luckily for us theres also a McDonalds at the station so in the end we did manage to get our McFlurries. Cadbury Egg McFlurry.....not as good as the Munchie one but still good.
Saturday I had to wake up early because Butler was taking us to Ely Cathedral and Cambridge for the day. I met up with Meg at like 8am to take the tube over to Notting Hill Gate where the Butler Office is. I met up with Aaron at the station because he's my own personal map.
The bus ride was about 2 hours. It was nice. I napped, watched RENT and just watched the scenery go by around me.
The Cathedral was boring. Very boring. I don't really know why they took us there. Aaron and I took off for the little town and ended up at a Costa where I had the best Vanilla Latte ever.
Cambridge was about 30min from the Cathedral but after our caffeine stop Aaron and I were much more awake. Cambridge was really cool. Very Prep School. I mean it makes sense with the colleges there. They do this thing there called Punting. It's a banana looking boat that holds a bunch of people and a person stands on the back and propels and steers the boat by sticking a long wooden pole into the bottom of the river or canal. It looked like a lot of fun and it wasn't too much to rent one. It was REALLY cold though so Aaron and I said it might be something we'd go back to do. We decided instead to go to the Botanical Gardens....maybe not the smartest thing to do since everything was pretty dead but it was still really cool. We got really excited because there was a cafe in the garden but it turned out to be a Cafe Direct which is the worst coffee ever.
We decided to get Crepes (because I can't go a weekend without one) at this stand but I got a Savory one instead of sweet because we had eaten a lot of junk. Not a great idea. I had a ham, cheese and asparagus one....just isn't as good as chocolate banana.
On the way back to the bus we passed a place called the Rainbow Cafe which of course we had to go into but it turned out to be a Vegetarian place and not Gay but they still had really good Hot Chocolate.
The bus ride back wasn't too bad. Quicker than getting there even with the London Traffic. There's a place called Ned's Noodles where we were dropped off that Aaron really likes so we went for dinner....it was awesome. I had a Sweet and Sour Chicken Noodle thing. The place was adorable.
I spent the rest of the night in bed watching movies. I'm all out of movies now which isn't good. Hopefully I'll want to start recycling them soon because I'm running out of things to do at night.
Sunday I slept in and then went out on an adventure to find a place called ASDA. It is Walmarts store over here so I figured it was worth a shot. It took forever to get there. I got pretty lost too but it turned out alright. The store was pretty much a grocery store but there were some pretty good deals. I got McVities Carmel Digestives for 4 for 2pounds which was amazing. But yea that was about the highlight of the day. It was a 4 or 5 hour adventure.
Yesterday was Aaron's and mine exciting Museum Monday. We went to the V&A and The Natural History Museum. The V&A was pretty big. They had the most amazing little theatre exhibit that Aaron and I spent close to an hour in....I think most people would have spent 20min. It was awesome. The sets they had on display were mind blowing. I can't wait to have a theater of my own to build amazing sets in. It was so cool. This one company in Ireland does shows in weird non traditional places and one performance they did of The Tempest was done on a pond so it was like something out of a Disney attraction. It was awesome.
The Natural History Museum wasn't as interesting. It was pretty boring. Lots of rocks and fossils and stuffed animals. But we can now say we did it.
After we had to go to a train station and observe for Devising London...of course we did it while at a cafe sipping our Tea (Aaron's not feeling well) and Lattes. I'm totally dreading that class tomorrow.
For dinner we went to Mucho Mas which has the amazing burritos. Nothing like wrapping up a day with the coolest guy in London with an amazing burrito.
Being Monday it was McFlurry Monday as well. Laura's older sister and mom joined us. Unfortunetly again McDonalds still doesnt have ice cream so we had to hike to the Victoria Station one.
Today has been low key. Class was horrible. The professor that taught today doesn't understand English as well as she should and we don't understand her so it's just a horrible exchange. During the break about 80% of the class left. It was pretty much just us americans and a few others. Longest 3 hours of my life.
Laura and I went grocery shopping after class and Ben and Jerrys was on sale!! So I have that to look forward to after I finish typing. We had dinner together in her kitchen. I had a pizza and she had pasta. It's nice not to eat in my room.
So yea dreading Devising London tomorrow. I don't technically have to go but we'll see. Aaron and I are meeting up early to be get some things done. Anyways Post Later, Jeannie
